Mechanicville Pre-K Application is now open for the 2025-2026 school year! Mechanicville City School District will offer (2) Pre-kindergarten classrooms at Mechanicville Elementary School in the 2025-26 school year and (1) Pre-kindergarten classroom at the Mechanicville Area Community Center. A child must be 4 by December 1 of the following school year to qualify for a Pre-K program.
Please note that Pre-K registration is a two part process to be completed when funding is awarded to Mechanicville City School District. We will be using a lottery system to determine which families receive a slot for the Pre-k 4 program. If multiple submissions are received for the same student, THE LAST SUBMISSION will be identified as final and official for purposes of the lottery process.
Step 1: Apply for the Pre-K lottery which will be held Friday May 30, 2025. The lottery applications will close on May 27, 2025 at 5:00pm.
Once you have completed an application via google forms, your lottery application is complete. The district will send an official notification by email to the e-mail addresses provided on the lottery application. You will receive one of two letters: an acceptance letter or a wait list letter.
Step 2: Accept an awarded seat and complete the registration packet in full
If you are awarded a seat and receive an acceptance letter, you must then register your child to officially accept the seat you have been offered.

-2 Pre-K Classes at the Mechanicville Elementary School
– Full Day Program -Days/Times/Calendar Dates are aligned with Mechanicville Elementary School.
– The school day is 9:10-2:10.
-Transportation is NOT provided
– Breakfast and lunch are available free of charge
Mechanicville Area Community Center 2025-2026 Pre-K Information:
-1 Pre-K Class at the Mechanicville Area Community Center
– Full Day Program -Days/Times/Calendar Dates are aligned with Mechanicville Elementary School.
– The school day is 9:10-2:10.
– Before Care and After School Care ARE available (Fee based service)
-Transportation is NOT provided
– Pre-K registration paperwork will be available for pick up after the lottery is complete. Registration paperwork is due by June 13th or the spot is given to the next student on the list.
