Per Education Law and a New York State mandate, our District is required to develop a policy that prohibits the use of electronic devices by students during the school day on school grounds – you can find our draft policy attached to this message. This State Mandated policy is designed to support student learning by ensuring they remain focused on their academic responsibilities and peer socialization throughout the school day, including and during both instructional and non-instructional periods such as lunch, recess, study halls, and passing time, free of distraction.
