Mark your calendars! On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, our community will head to the polls to elect two (2) new members to the Board of Education.
Meet Your 2026 School Board Candidates!

Dear Mechanicville Residents,
My name is Scott D’Ambro, and I am writing to formally announce my candidacy for the Mechanicville City School District Board of Education this spring.
As a 1980 graduate of Mechanicville High School, this community is my home. It is where my wife, Lisa, and I chose to raise our family. Our four sons are all proud products of the Mechanicville school system, where they thrived as successful students and were well-prepared for their futures.
Education isn’t just my profession; it’s my life’s work. I dedicated 41 years to the classroom as an elementary school teacher, while Lisa has served as an educator for 26 years. Beyond the classroom, I spent over 20 years as the Coordinator of the Shenendehowa Summer Literacy/Jumpstart Program. In that role, I led a professional team of 34 teachers, as well as nursing and secretarial staff, to ensure students had the tools they needed to succeed.
I am running for the Board of Education because I believe every child in our district deserves the opportunity to learn in a positive, productive community of lifelong learners. I want to use my decades of experience to ensure our schools continue to provide the highest quality education and support for every student. I kindly ask for your support in the upcoming election. The Mechanicville City School District Annual Budget Vote and Board Election is scheduled for May 19, 2026, at the Mechanicville Jr./Sr. High School. Polls will be open from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Your vote would be greatly appreciated. Let’s work together to keep Mechanicville schools strong for the next generation.
Sincerely,
Scott D’Ambro

Hi, my name is Kelly Morgan Pitcheralle.
I am a lifelong resident of Mechanicville and a proud graduate of MHS. I am married to Gary Pitcheralle, a School Resource Officer and the varsity baseball coach, and together we have two sons, Dylan (7) and Chase (10), who currently attend the elementary school.
As both a parent and a local business owner of Elle’s Bridal Boutique on Park Avenue, I am deeply invested in our community and the success of our school district.
With my children in the district, I care greatly about academic progress, a strong curriculum, student and staff safety, athletics, and the arts. I believe these are all essential parts of a well-rounded student experience, along with ensuring our schools remain a supportive and enjoyable place for our staff to work.
I would greatly appreciate your support on May 19 as I seek a position on the Mechanicville Board of Education.
Sincerely,
Kelly Morgan Pitcheralle
