    Absentee Ballot Information
    Any qualified voter of the Mechanicville City School District may request an application for an Absentee Ballot by either:

    Please remember, applications must be received by the District Clerk at least 7 days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election, if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter

    All Absentee Ballots must be returned to the District Clerk by 5pm the day of the vote (May 19, 2026).

    Early Mail Ballot Information
    Any qualified voter of the Mechanicville City School District may request an application for an Early Mail Ballot by either:

    All Early Mail Ballots must be returned to the District Clerk by 5pm the day of the vote (May 19, 2026).

    Voter Registration Dates:

    Voter registration dates will be held on April 30 and May 1, 2026 from 9am-2pm, in the District Clerk’s office, 25 Kniskern Avenue for any resident of the school district that meets the definition of a qualified voter, but is not yet registered to vote (see below).

    After the Voter registration dates, District residents may register at their county Board of Elections Office.

    Qualifications to Register to Vote:

    • Be a United States citizen
    • Be 18 years old by the date of the election
    • Be a resident of Mechanicville City School District for at least 30 days preceding the election

    Nominating Petitions

    The Mechanicville City School District is governed by a seven-member school board elected by the qualified voters of the School District.​ This year we will have two vacancies, each will be a three-year term, commencing on July 1, 2026, and ending on June 30, 2029.

    Board of Education nominating petitions are now available for Mechanicville CSD residents interested in running for an open seat on the school board. Petitions may be obtained in the District Office from 8:00 am – 3 pm, Monday through Friday. Completed Nominating Petitions packets are due to​ the District Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on April 29, 2026.

    Important Dates:

    • April 29, 2026 – Completed Nominating Petitions packets are due to​ the District Clerk by 5:00 p.m.
    • April 30, 2026 – The order of candidates ​to be listed ​on the ballot​ will be determined.
    • MCSD Annual Budget Hearing – Scheduled for May 6, 2026 at 6:00pm in the HS Cafeteria.
