Mrs. Kuzmich earns the Southern Saratoga YMCA Outstanding Educator Award!

On May 2, 2019, our Middle School/High School Librarian, Elizabeth Kuzmich, was awarded the Southern Saratoga YMCA Outstanding Educator Recognition Award.

This award honors local outstanding Educators who have demonstrated leadership and dedication in service to their schools and local community, who have helped improve the lives of young people in making responsible and positive choices, and who have demonstrated the four core values of the YMCA: Honesty, Caring, Responsibility, and Respect.

While Mrs. Kuzmich provides excellent resources for students in the library, her reach extends far beyond that room. Mrs. Kuzmich currently serves as advisor for the SADD Club, the school newspaper, and coordinates a lunchtime book club. She has attended several leadership programs with students, including No Place For Hate which she runs with a colleague.

Mrs. Kuzmich recently started a “closet” of gently used and donated items for students to access as needed. She is also involved in a grant that focuses on providing career and college readiness for students. She is the teacher for our 6th grade Study Skills and some UHS programs.  Students may take DOT Driving Tests in the library, which Mrs. Kuzmich monitors and coordinates. Our students feel comfortable talking with Mrs. Kuzmich, whether it be about school or personal issues.

Mrs. Kuzmich is a great resource for us, and MHS is proud to say her efforts and accomplishments have been recognized! Congratulations!!
