Important Information regarding masks & other important updates

Good morning Red Raider Community:

I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving. Just a reminder that there is a parent consent form being sent through Parent Square if you choose to have your child attend school during a yellow zone designation. This is parent choice. Your child is able to participate in school virtually if you decide.

To continue with in-person instruction within a yellow zone we are required to perform COVID testing on a random sample of 20% of students, faculty, and staff attending in person. Effective the week of November 16, if the results of the testing reveal that the positivity rate among the 20% of those tested is lower than the yellow zone’s current 7-day positivity rate, testing at that school will no longer be required to continue. A positivity rate in a school that is lower than in the yellow zone is a sufficient demonstration that in-person instruction is not a significant driver of local viral spread.

Secondly, as a safety precaution for all students and staff, we are moving to masks all day regardless of distance. While students are eating masks will remain off. We will also do two mask breaks every hour, at 30 and 60 minutes of each hour.

Lastly, Mr. Potter will host his monthly Coffee Chat this Wednesday, 12/2 at 6pm. The topic will be a presentation and Q & A regarding the zone designations. A link will be distributed through Parent Square and posted on FB.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns please reach out to me directly.

Please stay safe and healthy!!
